Matchbox - WW2 British Infantry Part 5

Hello and a Happy New Years Eve to everyone!!

I hope you already had a nice and Happy Christmas!! Now, in the middle of vacation time..
(witch is something that I don't have, cause of the yearly counting in my job...) I decided to close
2017 with three more figures of the British Infantry project !! ( Only the 2 Officers left to be
 painted now.!).
I haven't decide yet if white background is better than a dark one for this type of figures so I
take photos booth ways and I would like to have your opinion about that matter...

Once again I wish a Happy New Years Eve to anyone and , may 2018
be lucky and prosperous to you and your families!!

Till next year...Keep up the brushes!!

American Civil War Confederate Rebel 1:32

Hi there, Here's just another small post for a small fellow, just to let you know I'm here
struggling to find some time to paint something.....anything! I'm still working to finish the
British WW2 figures and I have them almost ready!!
In the meantime I've made some Unbranded Knights figures for a friend witch I will
present in a  forthcoming post. But for now here's what I have..

This fellow here has been painted a long time a go and comes to me along with some other
mixed ACW figures. So I don't have the full set and I don't know much about it..

.... and here's a question for anyone Knows :

Searching the web I've found this figure as
being part of this following set . It is named as
" Replicants 54mm Confederate Rebel vets"
Is the original brand "Replicants" or it is copies
of some older manufacturer?
I didn't even understand if "Replicants" is a
Brand or the seller means that the figures are
just copies....
Any help would be very much appreciated!!

Here you can see some more pictures in different angles or backgrounds.

.....a little bit more glossy that I wanted to be....at that time I haven't discovered matt varnish yet!!!

I Hope you like this little fellow and this post would be helpful to someone!

...till next time....Keep up the brushes!!!

Accurate - American Militia - Fig. 1

While I'm painting the rest of the WW2 British figures I would like to present you the figure of my avatar..I've painted that figure some years a go and it was my favorite for quite a time!

This figure is from the "Accurate - American Militia" 1:32 set and it has awesome details like all the Accurate sets. At the time I've painted that figure I didn't had the full set,  ..but now I do....

Beautiful figures and poses and you will be able to see some more of them painted in the future!

You will notice that the figure is a little bit more glossy than it should...At that time I was varnishing with satin varnish and not mat.....I'm thinking of respray with mat but I'm afraid that it might gets white spots so I'm hesitating a little...

       Here 's two more angles..

Thank you for visiting my blog!
Till next time....Keep Up The Brushes!!

Wild West - The Sad Cowboy (or..how to give a life to a cheap unbranded miniature! )

- Ahaa!! I got you , you lousy scum!!
You 've got those Aces in your sleeve the whole time!!
- Ok, you got me .. now what?..
- Defend yourself you filthy card cheater!!

 Bang! Bang, Bang!!  ..

- Oohhh...holy crap you got me.....aahhhh....

- Ok..Let's go back to our play gents....and no tricks please...

Hello everyone! Here is something different to break the monotony...

I bought these bunch of minis a long time a go as a bargain from e-bay...really cheap!
I believe they are unbranded Chinese copies of some older maker but I don't know for sure...
They are 1:32 scale but a little bigger.(56-59mm), made of soft plastic and factory painted.
Although they have very nice detail specially in the faces and expressions!

If anyone knows anything about them I will be very happy to know!

That night we have seen the "Toy Story " movie with my little daughter
and when she went off to bed I search for them and decided to give a life
to some of these beautiful fellows. It's a long term plant though so, I don't
know when the second figure will be at my schedule..

So, at first I started to unpainted the figure from this lousy factory paint..
and then the painting started..here are some pics....

And now the converting part began...The base!!
A not very well cut piece of wood, some balsa wood,
some plastic tubes with pva glue and simple paper for the cards...
I've also added a pair of spurs from a soft metal connector.

Then I cut the miniature from its base and ad some pins to mount
in the new base. Also I've added the spurs and the base details..

And now some pictures  (Lots of them !!)  of the final outcome..

I hope you like my little sad cowboy (my wife said that he looks like Indiana Jones...)
I will come back to this Wild West project after the British Infantry I'm working on
this time..( there are five more figs for that..) maybe with this figure..(yes he is smiling!!)

Thank you very much for reading this and I'm waiting for any information
about these figures or any other comment!!

'Till next time...Keep Up The Brushes!!!!

Matchbox - WW2 British Infantry Part 3

Hello! Is there anybody out there?...

Yes, it has been almost one year since my last post....and it seems to me like yesterday........
Although I haven't got much time for my blog ,all this year , I've manage to proceed with some projects
and paint some figures..(not as many as I wanted..) to present you within the forthcoming days.....

As  I've promised in my last post, here is the third part of the "Matchbox - British Infantry " project.
I've finished this vignette some months a go but I still haven't finish the base. I wan to buy a wood Router
to make my own wooden bases but I'm always out of schedule....

So here it is but not quite finished..

For this vignette I've used 2 Matchbox figures from witch ,one is easily converted to a dead man...

Also used some plastic sandbags (Airfix I believe) and a small piece of thin wire.Mixed mud with
PVA glue and water  for  the muddy ground  base. Below  you can see  some pictures  during the
 procedure .

Testing the positions in the terrain

Painting the ground.
I first glue only one line of sand bangs so I can paint and drybrush
easily every corner and hole of mud.

The first figure is painted and I'm starting the rest of the sand bags.

Almost done!

The second figure is ready and...here it is finished!

I've added some empty casings made up from wire painted gold and cut in small pieces.
Also added a "Lee Enfield" rifle..(the dead man's weapon?)

I will add some more pictures when I finally manage to buy that Wood Router and make the base.
Then the vignette will be completed!

Many thanks for stopping by!!
I hope you enjoy the pics and this post will be inspiring somehow for someone!!

Till' next time...Keep Up The Brushes!!
